I was at Target today, and saw they had this on sale. $30 was too good to pass up so I grabbed it. Can't wait for it to hit the table.

Hope you enjoy it! I've had a blast with my set and expansions so far. Eagerly awaiting the 2nd expansion.

It's a great game. Hope you have more self control than me when it comes to the expansion packs I have more than my fair share of ships and wave 2 isn't even out yet. I can't wait!

I'd be curious what people use for playing this game, I thought I saw mention of people ordering vinyl banners online and the like. I won't be able to sit down with the game until next week sadly.

Also, is there a date on the expansion?

This is a poster I bought from Ebay. I like it a lot.
Before I got that, I was just using the table.

Wave 2 is coming out sometime in February.

That looks very cool, wow you have a LOT of ships in there. How well does it scale?

The map can either be 48"x33" or 36"x33" because it is in sections. I usually just use it for 100 - 150pt battles and it works great.

Sorry, I meant to say do the rules and such scale well to larger battles?

Also, any recommendations for my first game with my son?

Yes, I think that this game scales very well with large battles. They can definitely take longer, but they are a lot of fun.

play with 4 to 6 people, helps to do things to keep the game moving such as keeping a time limit on the planning phase, that is probably the biggest time sink. numbering all the ships in order should help
