During a recorded interview with Tom Vasel of Dice Tower Games at Board Game Geek Con, Passport Game Studios announced that it would be holding a silent auction for the remainder of the convention donating all proceeds to the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund. This was the third major announcement from Passport that was made during the show (“Passport announces exclusive rights to Kalua and Tokaido”). The recorded interview was part of a Dice Tower podcast and video showcasing industry personalities, many of which discussed new releases at Board Game Geek Con.
“We’ve put together a nice package of our newly announced titles, including the only sealed copy of Tokaido (not yet available in the US)” announced Bobby Stickel of Passport Game Studios. “We will be holding a silent auction for this package during the next two days of the con, and we’d like to donate all the proceeds to the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund.”
“We’re excited to be part of this great show” stated Rob Merickel, Passport’s General Manager “and we’ve received a ton of attention based on some announcements we made. We thought it would be special to use that attention to benefit a cause that affects everyone.”
Attendees of the show can bid on the silent auction at the Passport Game Studios booth for the remainder of the show.

About the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund:
The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund was started in April, 2011, in memory of Jack Vasel, son of Tom Vasel. Tom is an influential voice in the board gaming hobby, and the community rallied around him in his time of need. Amazed by this generosity and kindness, Tom was determined to help others who might undergo similar tragedies. The purpose for which the Fund is formed is to collect and provide financial assistance to members of the public who are part of the gaming community and who have suffered personal hardship. The Fund is recognized as a not-for-profit under state law.
