My son and daughter (both are 9-years old now) are showing quite an interest in my games! It's great! We've been playing more "adult-type" games together lately. Of these...

My daughter's favorites are: Finca, Glen More, Rum & Pirates, DungeonQuest (third edition)

My son's favorites are: Defenders of the Realm, Ricochet Robots, Dragonheart

We want to play some good Euro-style games together. What are some good choices? Playable by 2- to 3- players is a must.

If it helps, my nine year old son loves Castle Panic, PitchCar Mini, Catacombs, Adventurers, and Forbidden Island.

My daughter is a bit older but she and her friends, who are less experienced in gaming, are big fans of Elder Sign which seems to scale well. They also like Vegas a lot.

Give Tobago a look. Its a game about driving an ATV around a tropical island in search of buried treasure. Its kid and gamer friendly.

Thanks for the great suggestions (so far)!

We already have a few of the games you suggested. I'm going to try either Lords of Waterdeep or Tobago with them today.

I'm also happy to see a suggestion for Alien Frontiers. I wouldn't have thought of this one for them. It might work, though: I'll see what their reaction is to the box/board. My son has been on an astronomy kick lately - this might appeal to him.

They enjoyed Castle Panic in the past, but only with Castle Panic: The Wizard's Tower expansion. I'm surprised that neither has enjoyed Forbidden Island.

I'll keep an eye out for the other suggestions - I'll start with games we already own but hadn't thought to try with them.

+ 1 for Tobago. I think kids would really enjoy the theme and the gameplay. Plus, the components are very, very nice. They definitely add to the appeal. TheBoardGameFamily did a nice video review of the game that you should check out.

You should take a look at Mondo, either now or as a future purchase. It's very light, but the timer makes it fun and interesting. The artwork is great. I think kids would really like it.
