For those who have played both Elder Sign and A Touch of Evil, which would you say is the better investigation game? How would you compare/contrast the two gameplays besides one being a card driven vs. the other a board/miniature game? Complexity/depth wise? Thanks

Not even close. aToE is way more like Arkham Horror than Elder Sign. Two totally different experiences.

Elder Sign isn't card driven or a board/miniature game.

ES is more dice driven than card driven.

I disagree. It's dice solved but card driven.

All the possibilities come from the turn of the cards - Adventures, Mythos cards, Equipment and Spell cards.

Depends on what you are looking for. Apples and oranges.

ES is a far more abstracted and "streamlined" in the gameplay department, where aToE is has far more theme and ambiance, not to mention a much longer play time. Not quite AH long, but way longer than ES.

Elder Sign is the better game IMHO. Both have good horror / investigation flavor, but neither really have mechanics to match. Both are just rolling dice in the end, and I enjoy ES more.

Don't have aToE but I do have Last Night on Earth which is similar I think and is pretty good, if a little simplistic in terms of mechanics. Elder sign as many have said is dice and card driven. I probably would say I prefer the latter, but I play both and it depends on the mood and how many are playing. Elder Sign is good with one, LNoE not so much.

I enjoy them both but they are totally different Game experiences,
in ES your trying to win before a showdown in AtOE you need a
showndown to win. As others have said AToE is way closer to AH
than is ES(Lovecraft Theme aside).

A quick light Game ES vs a longer rule heavier Board Game AToE ,
it comes down to what your looking for in a Game.

aToE's got the SW and the coast expansions, perchance make up for some of its downsides?
