mark...i don't know much about the 'scales', but could you use 1/32 with 1/72, or would it simply not look 'right'? thanks...

and...which scale is smaller?

they are essentially fractions. So 1/32 is about twice as large as 1/72. In terms of height, 1/72 is 22-23mm high (about an inch?), whilst 1/32 is 50-54mm by recall (about 2 inch?). Side Note: When will USA go metric like the rest of the world?

So I think they would be disproportionate, and wouldn't use them together. By each to their own.

so the game figs are about 1/72, and the 1/32 obv would be way too large (almost double in size), but any 1/72 minis would be close enough to use? thanks again!

I bought figures in 1/32 scale but ever got around to play with them - need to find a bigger table.

sound like, from the feedback, that 1/72 scale is what we need...

Yes. 1/72 offers a tremendous variety of troops and other items (fortifications, abbatis, buildings, etc). Airfix is one of the biggest producers.

these are the ones i'm going to order...i have 1 large CW set of theirs coming in the mail; want to compare to the BC figs before ordering more...in a perfect world i'd like several more sets of these, would add some of the CW battlefield access packs, and mix them with my 2 sets of BC minis (i have 2 games)...if need be, and the the "coloring" is off by too much but the size works, i'd simply re-spray paint all of them to match...

The 1/72 troops will be a tad larger than the BC figures, but you can mix them in and it becomes unremarkable. People do vary in size. The BC cavalry is undersize compared with the infantry.

HAT (from Spain I think) also has ACW figures.
