Is it the next step a solitaire expansion?

Thanks.

I can see the comments now:

"Yeah, RftG is getting a lot of buzz, but I played a game of it and as far as I'm concerned it's just single-player solitaire."

Other dice games like Yahtzee can be played solitaire. I see it as a strong possibility.

I made a conscious decision to make RollFTG as unlike classic dice games (like Yahtzee) as possible while still being a dice game. Notably, what I consider to be the core mechanic of Yahtzee is not in RollFTG.

Does it mean it cannot be played solitaire?

I have not tested, written, nor submitted any solitaire rules.

This doesn't mean that there can't be a fan-made solitaire variant, or even an official solitaire variant if I can design and test it fast enough. But it doesn't seem likely at the moment with my project schedule

I take it this means no rolling dice, then being able to choose to keep some and reroll others?

Mostly correct. There are some dice manipulation powers. But the reroll and keep mechanism and the score for making certain combinations mechanism are both mostly absent.

That is refreshing to hear. Now I am very interested in seeing this game.

I hope the dice are more awesome than the dice from IronDie as the artwork from RftG was a huge attractor for me.

Awesome dice equals instant sell for me... based on my RtfG experience I am sure Roll will play as well.
