I'm looking for a wargame (like Warhammer 40k) that comes with prepainted miniatures. What are some of the miniature wargames that come with prepainted minis?

The short answer is 'nothing very good.'

There was Heroscape, but it's OOP and expensive now.

There was Mage Knight, but it wasn't the best(balance issues) but it was kinda fun as long as you didn't take it seriously.

There was Confrontation when it switched over to PPP(repainted plastics) but we will not speak of that again. Ever.

There's the various 'clix' games out there, but they're more skirmish than war games. Basicly the tech isn't there to make good PPP miniatures cheap enough for a war game.

Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game isn't an infantry based skirmish game, so it's not like 40k in that way. It's a space based, duh Star Wars, dogfighting game. Lovely pre-paints and a nice game.

The Axis & Allies miniatures are an option:
Axis & Allies Miniatures
Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures: War at Sea
Axis & Allies Air Force Miniatures: Angels 20

The latter is my favorite among the three systems.

HeroScape
Mutant Chronicles Collectible Miniatures Game (now defunct but good gameplay - larger-scale minis though at 54mm)
AT-43 or Confrontation
D&D Miniatures Game
Axis & Allies (Ground forces or Naval version)
Dreamblade (supposedly a GREAT game)

While more of a dungeon skirmish than a wargame, Claustrophobia has beautiful pre-painted miniatures.

Dungeon Command: Heart of Cormyr
Dungeon Command: Sting of Lolth
Dungeon Command: Tyranny of Goblins

Dungeon Command isn't your traditional miniature game, it's a combination board game, card game, miniatures game. However, might want to check it out and see if your interested.

FYI
Confrontation & (especially) Mutant Chronicles have been available through various online vendors the last few black fridays. I was able to pick up just about everything still available for Mutant Chronicles for under $50 total last year. Confrontation starters where available for $10-$15 and faction boxes in the $5-$7 range.

My buddy and i have great fun playing games of AT-43 and Confrontation. At least for Confrontation, you can buy nearly everything that was released for the first 5 factions still from Miniature Market, and for good prices.

Ignore the haters who are hurt over the switch to PPP, it's a great medieval fantasy game, and I would play it over Warhammer any day (and I am a long time GW-fan).

AT-43 is just as good, but very hard to get useable armies anymore.

Leviathans

Air ships and cannons. How can you go wrong?

There is A battle tech game that I think is published by the same company as leviathans. I haven't played it, but if mechs are your thing it could be a fit.
