Yesterday, my wife and I played Aton. I won, but my starting hand was so good that it just felt unfair. My starting hand was four 1s.

Still one of our favorites.

Actually, that is not a bad starting hand. you get 40% of the ones upfront so your next nine hands or so have a higher proportion of better numbers. Also, in the first round a one doesn't penalize you in the 2nd cartouche as you have none of your own "priests" to send to the Hall of the Dead. You could fall behind a few points from the first cartouche, but that's not likely as your opponent is probably playing her high cards on three and four. Having a single marker in the first temple is a weak start, but catching up is not difficult.

My point exactly. I would argue that there is no better starting hand in Aton.

My point exactly. I would argue that there is no better starting hand in Aton.

Call in a "mulligan" as house rule?
