Have you ever scuffed up a set of card sleeves so much that you threw them out and replaced them with fresh sleeves?

If not, that raises a question: Why not make cards out of the same material used to make sleeves?

Try handling the sleeves without cards in them. Doesn't work too well.

There are plastic cards. They are prohibitively expensive for most games.

Is this a serious question? This is like asking why they don't make the plane out of the same material as the black box.

I'm reminded of Gloom. Funish game with see-through plastic cards. Unfortunately, after several plays, the ink started rubbing off on several of them. I'm not sure making cards from that material is a good idea.

Ink is on the outer surface. It would still wear. You need to print inside the object used.

Of course, I think sleeves are silly anyway.
