I'm creating a high-quality set to substitute the paper money of some games, can someone help me out here? I need to know which bill denominations does it comes with and how many of each.

Thanks for the help!

Use poker chips. Nothing - definitely nothing - beats poker chips.

cards?

The rulebooks should tell you how big a bank you need. Without spamming forums . . .

With other games, using poker chips is kind of a luxury, or a slight convenience.

With 18xx, it's almost a necessity. It's like having the rulebook for a game whose rules you don't know that well.

I believe that poker chips are easier to deal with, but the pile of chips needed to fund the bank makes for an unwieldy situation in its own right.

The table space needed for the bank's chips is, in technical terms, a lot.

With a rather diffuse 5-colour bank, it is ~140 square inches. With more denominations this can be made somewhat smaller. In general a paper bank will take more room.

I can't imagine playing 1830 without poker chips, unless there was a dedicated accountant at the table managing a spreadsheet.

I found in another thread that the bank size is 12,000.

EDIT: stupid phone ... I hate posting from it. Like trying to play basketball on a postage stamp.

I also wanted to say that I couldn't find a count of the denominations, but if that sort of accuracy is no matter, $12K is good enough. One just needs to know how big the bank is because running out of bank money is an end of game trigger.

So don't put them in a pile. Use a few of these acrylic chip trays:

The rules do say the bank is $12,000. The above amount will make the game run artificially longer.

15 @ $500 = $ 7,500
28 @ $100 = $ 2,800
16 @ $ 50 = $ 800
24 @ $ 20 = $ 480
30 @ $ 10 = $ 300
18 @ $ 5 = $ 90
30 @ $ 1 = $ 30
-----------------------------
$12,000

I mean the original quantity of bills7notes in the 1830 Mayfair edition (total adding 15740)
Total cash in bank depends on the Scenario (vanilla 1830, Scenarios...)

Okay, I'm working from the AH version. I didn't know there was a difference.
