A free e-book of this title noted in the Bibliography/Sources section of the rules was recently made available in August of 2012 via Project Gutenberg:

I'm hoping it is an easier read than the rules. Arrrg! arrrh

Actually, current scholarship has cast great doubt on the claim that this book was written by Defoe. We may not know just who "Captain Charles Johnson" was, but it's almost certain that he was not Daniel Defoe.

Nevertheless, it's a great read and highly recommended to anyone with an interest in the Golden Age of piracy.
