Anyone like to try a 4 player PBF game? I've not played before (my Queen edition just arrived today!), so very much newbie friendly...

Sure, I'll try. I've only played once, and it was a two-player variant, so it's not like I'm experienced. Plus, I think you just pulled ahead of me in our Rails game of 1830, so why shouldn't I keep losing to you?

It looks like the only other PBF game of this was DOA, so I'm not getting a good sense of how it'll run here. I'm more than happy to find out, though.

Fiddly but doable I think. Especially since there's no private information and not a whole lot of data needed for each train type.

Either that or we crash and burn

I'd like to try - mine arrived yesterday and we managed a five player game... I was a distant 4th

That's four - Me, John, Paul and David.

I'll read through the (Queen) rules again and see if we can't get this going in the morning!

I'll do the same. I have the Winsome edition, but I haven't read of any glaring differences in rules, so hopefully the two match up.

Reading the forums it sounds like starting cash is 10 Talers each in the Winsome edition??... its 12 in the Queen games rules

Starting cash should vary by player count: $10 for 3 and 4 player games (but the players also start with a Green #1 factory), $14 for 5 player games (with no factory).

looks like that's a definite change in the Queen rules then.... Exactly as you've described but 3 & 4 players start with 12 (rather than 10).

Perhaps a deliberate change to allow player 4 access to the first yellow factory??

I suggest numbering the rows on the board (1, 2, 3, 4 etc) and then adding an annotation that production value equals row number, capacity cost is twice value, and factory cost is twice capacity.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've added the row numbers, but I've been a touch weary of adding too much information lest I be accused of providing everything anyone would want to make their own version of the game - an accusation which seems to come up from time to time with Winsomes.

1d6 = (6) = 6

Here's to hoping I did this right -- we can agree on how to notate this in round 1, yes? At any rate, I developed Red 1 and rolled for Y1. Ed's up.

Nope, $2. The ratios within a factory are always 4:2:1, and it is the second factory.
