Berkeley Board Gamers will be hosting a demo and tournament for Android: Netrunner at Games of Berkeley on Saturday, Dec 8 Dec 15. Demo at 11 a.m., tournament at 1 p.m. You're welcome to learn the game beforehand, then jump right into the tournament.

There'll be a $2 entry fee, with store credit as prizes.

RSVP is not required, but it'd be great if you let me know if you're considering coming, so I have an idea of headcount.

More details here

I'll be there.

EDIT: One, your link has a typo. Two, do we need to bring our own tokens?

Thanks, fixed!

Yes, bring your own tokens.

If this ends up overlapping with the Santa Clara event, I will likely come here since it is local and all.

I wasn't aware of the Santa Clara event (was it on yahoogroups or something? I saw the previous 2 announcements on BGG). I'm looking into rescheduling if this allows a lot more people to come. For those of you interested in coming, will Dec 9 or Dec 15 work better?

They keep a Geek List here: http://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/148019/santa-clara-monthly...

In general, though, it is the 2nd Saturday of the month. And to reiterate here, I should be fine for the 9th or 15th, I believe.

Can't overlap much more than it does as scheduled. Brett's Santa Clara tournament is also on the 8th at noon at Game Kastle.

Andrew posted a link to the geeklist above. The Game Kastle Web site also lists it:

I know. I'm very much hoping that it can successfully be rescheduled. I would much rather play at both places then have to choose.

Actually, I know I said any date would work, but if it's all the same, I'd prefer Dec 9th.

Thanks for a great event.

Glad, despite a complete brain failure in the last round (by both me and my opponent, a fantastic fellow who took our shared silliness in stride), I managed to place 3rd.

It is hard to keep your brain on for 100% for four hours, as it turns out. Great games indeed.

Thanks for making it out, everybody! It was very smooth; you guys ran yourselves, and not a single situation came up. Turns out the only time I needed to make a ruling, I was wrong too. blush Good thing it didn't affect the outcome.

Only 1 person came to learn the game. The tournament included 2 who had learned the night before (and just bought their copies), 1 original Netrunner player who learned on the spot and 1 who had never played Runner before. Unfortunately, I should have emphasized the 'no data packs' criterion since a few had to do some last-second reworking. I didn't emphasize it too much since I didn't think the Data Packs would already be in people's hands!

I (Jevon) was Criminal/NBN; Seth (my only complete match) was Shaper/HB.

With the new data packs now out, all bets are off! I played a bunch on Sunday. Won a slog of a game with a slightly retooled version of my Crim deck, despite suffering three brain damage mid-game from an unexpected Janus 1.0 defending the Archives (ended the game decked with two tags as well).

20 new cards, with a handful that are really something to worry about.
