In the Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game, each of the 4 playable Villains has a set of Villain Ability cards that they acquire as they level up. Villain Ability cards give the Villains unique abilities that make each character have a distinctive play style and strengths.

Today, we will look at about the only guy who could pull off a purple zoot suit in Gotham City-- The Joker!

The Joker doesn't so much have a specialization as much as… he’s crazy! Whacko, bonkers, off-his-rocker, nutso, coo-coo, you get where I’m going here…

With someone as “Unpredictable” as The Joker, other Villains want to be sure that they know what their walking into before challenging him. This ability requires Villains to spend an additional Information to enter a block occupied by The Joker—if they dare to go head-to-head with someone who is completely out of their head!

As The Batman’s “Arch-Nemesis,” The Joker always learns something new whenever he faces The Bat. With this ability, whenever he is involved in a fight with The Batman, he gains a bonus 2 Information.

With his best girl and femme-fatale “Harley Quinn” by his side, The Joker can spread more fear throughout Gotham City. This ability allows the player controlling The Joker to place a bonus Threat in a block with one of their Henchmen figures whenever they move their Henchmen.

The Joker’s special token ability (each Villain has an ability that will give them a special token to add to the game) is his infamous “Laughing Gas.” The Laughing Gas token will count as 2 bonus Threat in a block that cannot be removed by game effects and can be moved to a different block whenever the player controlling The Joker discards a Criminal Plot card to gain resources.

Normally in fights, a roll of a Bat Emblem on the custom dice included in the game counts as either a 0 (in fights with other Villains) or is an automatic loss (in fights with the Batman). However with his “Exploding Cigars” ability, The Joker has a chance to turn these rolls into a big surprise if he rolls another Bat Emblem on the same die— automatically winning the fight with a BANG!

The Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game releases in February 2013. We hope to see you all in Gotham City!

with the exploding cigars ability, when you re-roll a batman and get a number, do you get to use that number, or is it discarded because you are only looking for another batman symbol?

when you get a batman symbol, do you just re-roll that die, or all the dice?( I am assuming combat includes multiple dice sometimes)

So I'm guessing Harley Quinn will not be able to be a playable character in this game in the future...
