Pretty sure it's just decorative.

I suppose with a little tinkering it could be used for The Royal Game of Ur or something.

I too am looking at making a game to fit this board.
I feel very reluctant. I don't know why.
edit: I think avoiding obvious elements of games I know leaves me with having to choose from elements I don't know. Unsurprisingly I find it hard to use elements I don't know.


I suppose I could put a rondel on the board.

Clearly its a "Swiss-style Game" which uses auctioning from "German-style Games" and cheese from "Cheese eatting games".
