I posted a roll which was very fortunate and in my favor (to be fair, it was just a 1/6 chance), and now it's being suggested that I could have made a post with a roll, deleted the entire post, and done that again until I got the desired outcome. Is there a page with a list of all of the dice rolls to show that that's not what I did?

Try this: Geek Randomizer Guide

Edit: Ahh, I misread.

I think this is the specific info you wanted:

Where does my roll shows?

As said on the intro, rolls are aggregated to keep a log and avoid cheating. Rolls added to a forum post, will show also on the thread. Shows added to a comment (like an image comment, a file comment, etc) will also show on the item itself. Geeklists are a bit different. Rolls added to the GeekList header, to GeekList comments and to GeekList items show aggregated on the GeekList itself. Rolls added to comments for GeekList items shows aggregate on that GeekList item.

I was looking for something along these lines, but it was more like: What was the first ever roll made in BGG? By whom? In what thread?

Is there a way of knowing this?

Thanks, I found the solution to my problem on that page. It was the "Thread Rolls" link that I needed, and the knowledge that even rolls in a deleted post will show up on the Thread Rolls list.

While it's good to have a safty-net.

I wouldn't play with anyone I thought might cheat, nor would I play with anyone who thought I might cheat. It's got to be about trust.

The announcement thread roll has dice roll 120: Dice Rollers come to the Geek

I suspect most where used during onsite testing. If you looked through the admin coder's threads its possible you might be able to find earlier ones.

Someone is throwing out accusations of cheating because they can't believe the result of a one-in-six roll?

No I don't think so really - I think they were just wondering out loud if there were any safe checks. Hence the OPs question.

It was in a particular quest in Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition), wherein the heroes have to rescue masked guests and the Overlord has to capture them. Thematically, one of the guests is the lord of the castle but nobody knows which. At the end, a die is rolled to determine who found him.

The thing is, it's not a regular d6; it's a die with {0, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4}, and the heroes have to roll less than or equal to the number of guests rescued in order to win. The Overlord stomped all over us, just really creamed us, and then we rolled the zero and still won it. It's sort of a broken outcome to an otherwise decent scenario, and one that I will personally house rule in the future.

In short, it was the die roll that determined the winner of the encounter, and he didn't technically accuse me of cheating, but he did suggest the possibility. At any rate, the "Thread Rolls" link quashes that possibility.

Well, we can just go through 1-119 and see if any are still in the system. It turns out they all are, but perhaps some are from a deleted account? I think yohanleafheart gets the prize for the first real roll, though it was in testing, of course:

Unfortunately, I tried searching for "[geekroll=120][/geekroll]", which we know exists, but none of the search engines can find it. I'm not quite sure why, but search engines will find neither the code nor the text generated by the code (the latter being more understandable to me since it's generated as part of message display).

That's what I tried! When we insert in a post a geekroll, it uses that format. If you replace that number, it comes with a message "username previously rolled" and then the roll and the result. I tried to do it for 1, 0000001, some numbers in between but had no luck... I was just curious.
And as for cheating, if you insert a roll number already used, you get that "previously rolled" message, so there's no way you can cheat.

My try:
1d12 = (11) = 11 - good roll
jatang previously rolled 1d20+7 = (6) + 7 = 13 (Shoot) - altered number roll

((I tried editing the roll but the "previously message" is not visible/editable))

No cheating allowed!!!
