I'm planning on taking some time off over the holidays, so I've decide to host a day long board game-a-thon. It'll run from 8am to somewhere around 10pm.
The gaming event will be located in Carlisle, PA (20 minutes outside of Harrisburg, PA). The church I attend owns a community center building and will be letting me use it for the event. They have lots of tables and chairs, there are bathrooms, and even a kitchen area. I'll be recruiting some people to run a food and drink area.
There will be NO entry cost. All I ask is that you bring yourself, some games, and some friends. I'll be bringing many games from my collection, but the more the merrier!
I'll be posting more info on this thread as time goes on. I've also posted the event on MeetUp.com.
If you plan on attending, PLEASE message me so that I can plan accordingly.
This is awesome. I'm down in Shippensburg, PA. I doubt my holidays schedule and work will allow me to attend, it's nice to know that boardgames receive some love in my area. If I can make it I will confirm as soon as I know.
I've uploaded a copy of the flyer I made to Dropbox.com. Feel free to download and print it. Pass them on to your friends or hang them up in different locations (as long as you have permission to do so).
OHhhhh so close and yet so far! I'll be in Hanover, visiting from upstate NY, on the 29th -- but we are having our extended family Xmas that day (35 people) so I am unable to come. Someday... I hope you have a GREAT time!
Just got back into York after a solid 8 hours gaming at the Tree House. Met a lot of new people, played some new games, had a good time. Thanks, Victor, for hosting the event. Looked like there was 4-5 different games going when I left around 8 PM. 20+ people? Good stuff.
Holy crap did I have fun yesterday! THANK YOU to everyone that came out!! I got to play some old and new games and had a BLAST! That last game of The Resistance was some of the most fun I've ever had in such a small amount of time.
Even with the snow, I think the day was a total success. I'm already thinking about planning to do this again in late Spring/early Summer. Let me know if you have interest and if so, let me know what weekends look good for you (you can PM the info). I'll try to pick a weekend that works the best.
