The Kickstarter Project for FUNzillion$ -- The Ultimate Game of Financial FUNdamentals was accepted and is now live!
FUNzillion$ is a family-oriented board game designed to teach children, teens and adults about money management. It is fun and challenging -- combining elements of chance and the need for strategy -- making it appealing to kids of all ages. It covers topics we could all benefit from… savings, credit card debt, investing for retirement, recycling, paying for college, weekly allowances and more.
In a recent survey, more kids said they would rather be "a personal assistant to a star" than the CEO of a major company. Yikes!
We are passionate about helping people – particularly kids – become smart about finances. That is why we need to Kickstart Funzillion$.
Whether it is a group of adults playing to see who has the greater financial know-how or a family gathered for game night, everyone is sure to have a good time. The topics covered are intriguing. For example, some of the trivia type Challenge Cards questions include:
- When is it okay to start giving a child an allowance?
- Is it better to save for retirement or for your child’s college education?
- True or false: bonds can’t lose money.
There are unique rewards for donating such as "create your own game card" and "name one of the characters" that would be a special present for a child, grandchild or the person who has everything.
Even if you don't want the board game, you can still help fund the project. We will be giving the game away for free to a number of deserving organizations (American Childhood Cancer Org., Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, local schools, etc.). Kickstarter prohibits us from explicitly stating on the website that we will be donating to charity, but we are committed to getting the game to those it will benefit the most.
The campaign runs until Dec 31st and your early support is crucial. Thank you BGG & Kickstarter communities!
