Rules for a Student variant of The Ark of the Covenant.

-Students learn from and are counted for majority purposes as half of a follower or Prophet. They may be represented by a minimeeple from the travel edition of Carcassonne, a cube, or whatever is agreed upon.

-It is suggested to use 1 Student per player, yet a 2nd Student could be used.

-One Student may be returned to the owner's hand at the end of their turn.

-A Student may only be placed on a feature which is unoccupied. A Follower or Prophet cannot be placed on a feature which already has a Student.

-A feature with only Students on it is considered to be occupied but not scoreable except for the next two following items.

-A Student does not score for the Ark merely passing by, but the Student does score 1 point when the Ark ends the movement on the same tile as the Student. That way there is time to study and learn.

-A Student is counted as half of a regular Follower during the completion of a Temple. The Student does score 1 point for witnessing the completion of a Temple by being on one of the five tiles.

A 2nd Student might work in a 2 or 3 player game, but would probably make a 4 or 5 player game too populated. That would be true of Phantoms, Wagons, and other potential pieces as well.

This is pretty straight forward. I have not had a chance to play this. Anyone want to try this out or share any thoughts?

-OBSOLETE- A Student does not score for the Ark passing by, but the Student does score 1 point at the start of that player's turn whenever the Ark is on the same tile as the Student. (this would seriously warp the dynamic of a 2 player game)
