Me and my friend have found a pretty interesting playstyle.

We lay out the heroes to the side, they can be bought for 8 power, so you begin without one. Initially we have it where you can only purchase 1 hero during a turn, but you can keep buying them turn after turn if you wish.

We also lay out 15 cards in the line-up, and we don't replace after we buy, but after the lineup count becomes 5 or less, we destroy the rest of the lineup and put 15 new cards out.

We are wanting to playtest it some more and make the necessary tweaks we deem fitting.

What do you all think?

The latter sounds interesting, but the former sounds terrible. Having a randomly-dealt Hero gives a neat, different spin to your strategy in each game. If you can buy them, people will just go after their favourites.
And having to buy them adds a speed-bump the game just doesn't need. It's a quick, fun game. It doesn't need to be slowed down like that.

From our playtesting, games have lasted the same amount of time.

Sounds interesting - we do a similar thing when there are left over cards in the line up. We just discard the rest and lay out new ones. Although I'm not sold on buying your superhero.

Meh...I guess I'm just a little simple minded...
