When playing Scenario 3 I decided to hold the entry of the first wellington and bring it on Turn 3 with the second airframe.

How should the Players Radar searches be played during the period when there are no bombers on the map ?

Assume this applies to later scenarios as well but have only owned the game for 2 days and haven't got that far

Without checking the rules, I seem to recall this is covered and the umpire gets to flat out lie since all hexes are equidistant when it comes to how far off target they are.

13.1.2 Radar Sweep
If a radar search does not achieve a contact, the umpire
places a radar sweep counter in the hex adjacent to the search
counter that is closest to a bomber.

If there are no bombers on the map when the search counter
is placed, the umpire may choose any adjacent hex to put the
sweep counter in. He does not have to let the player know
there are no bombers on the map.

Thanks for the quick responses. Day 2 of ownership so missed that little nuance. That would have made life a lot more interesting and probably kept the wellington alive.
