It's a 2005 softwares line, I don't see any catch. I didn't tick any boxes when I made an adobe account.

Maybe they thought it would be better to give an old version for free than trying to fight piracy on their newer suites.

Creative suite is up to 6 now, so it's old, old news.
BUT it may entice people to try and then buy the new software.

I can't believe many people will get onboard with things like indesign, but photoshop and acrobat, heck yeah! everyone should have that.

Oh and the piracy thing on cs6 is tighter than 5. I had to call in and email and all sorts of nonsense to get it working.

What do you mean old news? They made all the files available today!

Clearly it is not CS6, then again it has everything a basic user would need to. I used PS2 for years and never needed anything higher than that. CS2 has a few nifty additions and probably CS6 is even better (especially the automatic fill feature, that thing is black magic)

There seems to have been some misinformation. See below; Adobe isn't offering CS2 for free.

Looks like quite the conundrum. While the Adobe official voice on the thread has stated that it is not available for free and the site is not available, the direct links still work. It appears Adobe has some PR recovery work to do on this one.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the info. I am sure it was done with the best of intentions.

I suggest updating your original post with a link to the discussion thread (linked above) and let people figure it out for themselves. Given that Forbes & quite a few other very big sites posted the same, I think you're ok here.
