My wife loves all kinds of games but they have to be short ones. She might play one that takes up to 45 minutes but prefers anything about 30 minutes or less. She is not picky--card games, boardgames, dicefest, strategy, coops, 2 player, 10 player, she doesn't care, just as long as it doesn't take too long.
Can you recommend what you like the best? I want to my next purchase to please her and thought your recommendations will help me decide.
Thank you!

Well my husband and I can complete 1 game of Seasons in that time, but it did take a bit longer for our first few plays.

The ultimate in fast but enjoyable games has to be Escape: The Curse of the Temple- it only takes ten minutes, but it packs a lot into a little time.

Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small

It's a 30 minute, two player game and it's lots of fun. Everyone I've taught it to loves it (both men and women).

We play seasons a lot, but it takes more than 30 min with us.

For a less than 30-min game we play :
Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small
The Pillars of the Earth: Builders Duel
Fliegen klatschen
Isis & Osiris

For less than 30 minutes, my wife's go to game is Morels. Sometimes she'll grab Ra: The Dice Game or Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age but Morels is the clear leader.

I'm not a big fan of short games, but there are some I enjoy.

- I hear really good things about Morels, and I'd love to pick up a copy.
- I really like Fjords, but that may be closer to 45 min. You do play three rounds, though, and if need be, you could shorten it to two or even one.
- Tally Ho! is deeper than it would first appear.
- Cribbage is a lot of fun.
- My husband and I can get a game of Glen More played in under 30, and likewise a game of Saint Petersburg. That's two player only, mind you!
- You can often play a game of Magic: The Gathering in under 30. devil

2 of my favourite games I like to throw in the car to bring to events are usually done and dusted in 30 minutes or so. You'll need 5 players for both though, and they are better with 7-8 IMO.

Dixit - Easy to teach and a lot of fun.

The Resistance - very quick to play, works best with large groups of people who love to yell at each other.

Quite a lot of our female friends love these two games. They are social, have very little downtime and are easy to teach and quick to play.
