Wow, $45! Considering the original deal was $10 I'm tempted to sell mine!

Pete (is only just tempted, so don't ask!)

So if a BGG member happened to find a case (5 sets) of these chips in his garage that he is considering selling, what would fellow BGG players pay for a set? I know they will fit in a Medium Flat Rate Box so they will ship anywhere in the US for $12.65. I am willing to consider international shipping, but have no experience with it and imagine something this heavy would be costly to send. I'd rather sell them to fellow geeks than on eBay, but I need a fair price to list them in the marketplace.

I would be interested if the price were around $30 with shipping. I know they have been going for more than that, but that's what I would be willing to drop.

Send me a geekmail if you would like to sell a set

I have decided that you are right. I will sell at least one of the sets on eBay to set the price. Here is the listing:

I don't mean to irritate the people that can't find these, but I use these constantly. Easily half our games get chips added, and they're as much a staple in our group as the dice towers or dice trays.

Pete (hopes you guys can get some)

Just keep pouring the salt......

Well, if you insist.... devil

I bought two sets back in the day when they ran $10. I think I had a discount code on top of that. They've been handy, but I also have full-sized poker chips and various other tokens. I use the mini-chips just occasionally. Better to have than not have them, however I think their grail status is a bit exaggerated. If you already have decent chips, then some cheap plastic ones would do well as a portable substitute -- either the cheesy full-sized ones available everywhere or maybe these in 11 different colors:
http://www.pokerchips.com/interlocking-radial-plastic-poker-...

Here's another source of plastic chips in multiple colors:
http://www.discountpokershop.com/25pc-interlocking-plastic-p...

Or perhaps Koplow's 7/8 inch plastic chips in several colors:
http://www.amazon.com/Purple-Mini-Poker-Chip-Tube/dp/B00CXAF...
They are tiny, very thin, and have no heft at all (don't sneeze!).

So if you want that poker-chip chink sound in a mini size you'll have to pay a hefty price. It's probably worth it solely if they will be your only weighty chips.

I have some of these!!!

I used several in a Kickstarter prototype a while back and have several more unopened. It would be nice if I could make some money back from my original campaign (yeah -- it failed.) cry

Anyway... I just listed two sets in the BGG Martketplace at $45 each. I think I have another case in storage, but need to confirm before I list those. Here's the current link:

Thanks!

I've used Game Knights poker chips for a full game one time. They are nice, but at 90 cents per.... some will feel shake

On a related note, I've been notified of this delightful replacement to 7 Wonders coins that are metal! However, it costs $60, and you need 2 sets of them! wow

And while they are more thematic, they are far poorer from a functional perspective.

Listed three more of these in the market place:

http://boardgamegeek.com/geekmarket/product/769917

Also, in my original use for these I needed just the chips and thus have a bunch of extra CASES. The chip tray pops out and could be replaced with the included foam insert and make for a nice travel case for dice/cards/tokens. If anybody has an interest I will make a separate listing for these as CASES ONLY.

Thx.

Thanks Jamal. I got a set about two months ago but my mom was looking for one and she's going to be super excited when she gets her set!

Just checked out.

My guess is that he is asking about the following comparison from near the top of the thread. But the answer is right above the picture, so maybe not (unless same pic was referenced later).

curtc wrote:

So, the four sets are, from left to right: My "good" chips (full size/weight), the chips mentioned in this thread (Discount Poker Shop, for lack of a better name -- I haven't seen them anywhere else), a custom set I had made as a sample in China (exact same size/shape as PokerToGo chips, but with better design, and including white, as well as purple--not shown), and finally the PokerToGo chips (which only come in four colors, so I duplicated red so that all stacks would have five chips):

I've been too busy (trying to move) to sell the mini poker chips, but I just posted a fundraiser drawing for a set.

https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1450967/fundraiser-and-priz...

All proceeds go to the Extra Life charity.
