Today we (Katja and me) played three more games of Ascension. After playing a lot of Immortal Heroes we returned to Return of the Fallen.
I remembered correctly how to play with this set and concentrated on runes and mixed in very little fighting. Katja played about a 50:50 mix of runes and fighting which is good for Immortal Heroes but does not work that well with Return of the Fallen. I won all three games but two of them were close.

Game 1 was not close. I had Serpentcall and both Recamaxes which allowed me to buy heroes and constructs from the void. In addition I had a Stone Circle and could put one hero I bought omn my deck every turn. In my best turn I bought Adayu from the void and put him on my deck from where I could draw him next turn to defeat Samael. In addition to that I was able to banish 11 of my 12 starting cards which also helped a lot. In the end I won 91-76.

Game 2 was very close. I won 72-71. Best card this game was Nairi. I played her four times for a total of 20 points.

Game 3 was decided by the lifebound cards that gave direct VPs. Katja scored 15 points with nairi but I scored 21 points with my Omen Ravens. In the beginning I said "Apprentice" which worked about 50% of the time. Later I had a Stone Circle and could buy cards, put them on the deck and draw them with an Omen Raven. I also scored some points with the Dendalion witch. In the end I won 73-67.

Surpeisingly today lifebound (Stone Circle, Nairi, Omen Raven,...)and Void (banishing) cards were more important than Mechana Constructs.
