A question concerning some Railroad Barons in the Western US expansion:

There are some barons whose text states 'Gain 3 points each for connecting to these urbanized cities: NN, NN'. While I understand these as the player gaining 3 ponts for connecting to them - that is including them into one's railway network - others tend to understand it as gaining 3 points for each link you have there, which had resulted in players claiming to score up to 27 points at times. Now, such an interpretation would unbalance the game tremendously. What is your opinion here?

Baron Cards typically offer a bonus around 6 pts max (a few exceptions). These cards give you a bonus only once for each city listed you connect to assuming it has been urbanized (non-gray). It is not unlimited, or for each connection.

Another way of putting it: the card's flavor text would indicate "for each connection to these urbanized cities..." if the bonus was allowed multiple times for a given city.

There is no officially published baron card that I know of that can get you more than 9 points, and the ones that can be applied multiple times always state a limit. If there is no limit, the limit is once.

It is 3 points for each city, not for each link to each city.

Do the cities also have to be urbanized if they don't start off like that?
Or is just connecting to them enough.
