Hello gamers,

I'm looking for a sci fi card game to round out my intentionally limited game collection (this would be game #5). I'm not interested in RFTG or any economic-themed game. Ideally, this would be a combat strategy game (imagine Warhammer Invasion, but 40K-themed). I own Death Angel, but I'd like a competitive game (preferably with factions, etc.) I've heard good things about Netrunner, but I'm not sure the theme is for me.

I wish I could tolerate fantasy themes. I think it would make finding a card game infinitely simpler.

Thanks!

If you like, I can give you my print-and-play playtest files for a 2-player competitive game I am making involving competing fleets of ships taking control of enemy space stations.

It's a small tactical game. It has about 20 cards per player (no artwork) but uses a lot of counters (not included).

Interested?

Take a look at Core Worlds. If you think it's interesting and end up picking it up, the expansion adds several new dimensions to game play including elements similar to the factions you mention. The expansion is Core Worlds: Galactic Orders.

+1 for Infiltration. It's one of the most fun sci-fi games I've ever played, and it's definitely not economic.

This is the best one I could think of provided my somewhat limited card game experience.

Eminent Domain is similar, but can be a bit more economic than you would be looking for here...
