Seeing if there is an interest in starting a Battlelore tournament on Vassal over the next month or two. Looking for players that are willing to commit to playing at least once per week. Working out the details, but reply here if you're interested and post your timezone (GMT) as well. Thanks

Awesome Kent. I'm GMT-8 as well. The module is pretty easy to use and has all the expansions included. The only tricky part is setting up the game, war council, lore decks, cta, etc. I would most likely put out a step by step for those things for the benefit of new players.

I've put this email out on several different forums and we seem to be garnering some interest so far. It would be nice to get 12 confirmed committed players.

1.Dave - GMT-8
2.Victor - GMT-8
3.Dale - GMT-7
4.Chris - GMT-5 (a friend of Dale's)
5.Kent - GMT-8
6.Gandalf - GMT-7 (I think)
7.Todd - GMT-7
8.Chris - GMT-5
9.Dan - GMT-7
10.John - GMT-5 (I think)
11.Mark McG (GMT+11)
12.Mark D (GMT-5)

edit1: Included Gandalf
edit2:Included Chris from another forum and confired that Todd is in.
edit3:Included Dan and updated Chris (#8) to GMT -5.
edit4:Included John at #10.
edit5:Included Mark McG at #11.
edit6:Included Mark D at #12.

When would you be playing? I'm GMT+1 and possible interested, but not sure if I've got the time to commit to this, so, if possible, I'd like to join in as an observer, to see how this kind of thing goes.

I recommend you join the Yahoo forum BattleLore Call to Arms, which is where the tournament database is usually located. If you are new to Vassal, there is a BattleLore on Vassal Guide in the Files section.

The way it works is you would get a list of matchups for the entire tourney (with the emails of each participant). You would then make contact with the person you are scheduled to play that week to arrange a time to meet on Vassal to play your assigned scenario. You would report back the results of each matchup. These would be tracked over the course of the tourney. Something comes up (vacation or something), just let the players know and double up on games the next week. The key to the tourney's success is open communication and the ability of everyone to fulfill their committment to play at least one game per week.

Awesome Dan. We've got 10 confirmed. 2 more and we can get the train rolling.

@ everyone who confirmed that they want to play. Please geekmail me your email address for tournament communication, one that you actually check frequently. Thanks!

I'm a bit too pressed for time at the moment otherwise I'd jump in. I enjoyed MT3 even though I wasn't able to finish my games.

I'm up for it, I'm in EST.

Would this be just the base BL game?

Awesome Mark. If we got 12 players, then it will be six scenarios from various expansions. It will definitely be more than just the base. If you are still good with that, then geekmail your email address. Also, let me know which version of vassal you are using. Thanks.

We have a full group of 12. If you have not already done so, then please geekmail me your email address. I will spend the remainder of this week putting together the documents needed (schedules, list of contact emails, etc.) for the tourney and will have something official to you by this weekend (2/2). With 12 players, the six preliminary rounds will start on 2/9 and end on 3/23 (one week per round). The semifinal round will run from 3/23 to 3/30. The championship round will run from 3/30 to 4/6. Although it's not required, I think it would be nice if the players who make it to the semifinal and championships round would announce their scheduled game (day and time) in case others want to pop by and observe the fun. Good luck everyone. I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield...

Here is the final list of participants for the upcoming Battlelore Tournament. We've had a few more people sign up, but I have decided to keep the first tournament limit to 12 as originally planned. The goal is for the successful completion of this tournament. 12 makes for just about the right length of time ( a little less than two months from start to finish) and allows for a few alternates in case the unexpected occurs and someone cannot complete their commitment. I hope understand Ben and Alex. There still may be a chance you could participate if someone drops out before or during the tournament, but worst case scenario is you will have first dibs if we run another tournament after this one. As you can see, I am in the same boat. I removed myself and placed my name at the back of the alternate list.

1.Bartholomew GMT-7
2.Victor - GMT-8
3.Dale - GMT-7
4.Chris E. - GMT-5
5.Kent - GMT-8
6.Gandalf - GMT-7
7.Todd - GMT-7
8.Chris P. - GMT-5
9.Dan - GMT-7
10.John - GMT-5
11.Mark McG - GMT+11
12.Mark D - GMT-5

Alternates
1.Ben Neffer - GMT-10
2.Alex Rathburn - GMT-8
3.Dave - GMT-8

Hey David if you are available tonight than I would be up for some practice rounds. I believe we are on the same time zone. around 7 or 8 would be nice. If today does not work than that is fine.

Thanks
