What symbol would you use for "political capital" or "political mandate"?

I'm trying to retheme a game and I can fit everything else in, but the "gold" in the old theme just doesn't fit. So I need a symbol for political capital or political popularity. I've thought about thumbs (thumbs up/thumbs down) but that doesn't feel quite right.

Any ideas?

What would the opposite of a checkmark (a negative checkmark) be?

Either empty checkbox, or spoilt ballot?

OP appears to be from Sweden. I'm not sure the pyramid makes any sense to him. (I'm not even sure what the Eye of Providence is about.)

I don't see anything wrong with using a coin so long as you don't also have money as a separate resource. Money is power after all.

A paper going into a ballot box springs to mind. Can't think of a good negative image, but what about different colours? Perhaps white positive, red negative.

Edit:

All I know is that it's slightly foreboding and very Illuminati!

If that ain't politics, I don't know what is!

How about a simplified icon representing the swingometer?

BBC archive link

For those outside of the UK, it's a staple of BBC election night programmes, with a needle 'swinging' left or right to denote the election results on a red/blue wedge showing the poll results as they come in.

Here's a low-tech old school version; the modern ones are computer generated.

Is it a modern theme? Is it set in a democracy or another political system? That would influence what would represent political capital.

A little icon of a baby.

If it's positive political capital, the baby is being kissed; if it's negative, it's being eaten.

Green checkmark in a box for yes, red X in a box for no.
