To be fair, we used the 'Left Coast Gamers' method of selecting a game to play. Each player placed a game they desired to play on the table and then secretly voted for their preferences using cards numbered 1 - 4. The game which received the highest cumulative total is the one we played. This time, it was Reiner Knizia's Samurai.
The combatants were Steven, Ashton, John and I. Steven began fast, capturing several tokens, including two of three from Ido. I was setting myself up for a nice token scoop, but John played his 'switch tokens' tile and scooped them all from underneath me. Arrghhh!
I managed to make a strong come-back, but the game ended one turn before I had hoped. I qualified for the 'finals', but failed to win. Steven captured the victory in the tie-breaker over John:
R=Rice Patties, B=Buddhas, H=Helmets
Greg: 5R, 1B, 3H
Steven: 5B, 3R, 2H
John: 4H, 3R, 2B
Ashton: 3H, 2R, 3B
Ratings: Greg 8, Ashton 6, John 5, Steven 4.5
