From what little we know, it sounds like the next update will more X-Men focused. I have always been partial to Spider-Man and his cast of characters, however, so I decided to make a mini expansion made up of Spider-man-centric stuff. These are the characters I have made up, 5 of them, commons (C1 & C2), uncommons(UC), and rares(R), and I have more villains, Henchmen, and Masterminds made up too. I'll start with just the Heroes first. I play tested these in solo a couple of times, so I feel they are pretty balanced, but I'd love to hear the thoughts of others.
C1 – Covert, cost 3 – You get + 1 recruit for each Bystander gained or rescued this turn / 1+ recruit
C 2 – Instinct, cost 3 – You get + 1 attack for each Bystander gained or rescued this turn / 1+ attack
UC – Instinct, cost 5 – Instinct: Rescue a Bystander / 3 attack
R – Covert, cost 8 – Other covert heroes played this turn are +1 attack/ covert: Draw 2 cards / 4 attack
C1 – strength, cost 4 – Discard a card. If that card is a hero or 2 or more cost, +2 attack / 1 attack
C2 – Instinct, cost 4 – Instinct: draw three cards. KO one, discard one, and place one if your hand. / 2 attack
UC – Instinct, cost 4 – SpFr: KO a hero from your hand, gain Attack equal to that heroes recruit cost. / 2 attack
R – strength, cost 6 – If you have four cards left in your hand after playing this card, discards those four and draw four new cards. / 2 attack
C1 – Tech, cost 3 – Gain a wound and place it on top of your deck. / 3 attack
C2 – Tech, cost 3 – Tech: KO a wound from your hand or discard pile OR draw a card / 2 attack
UC – Range, cost 5- Discard a wound from your hand, +2 attack / 2+ attack
R – Range, cost 7 – Discard a SpFr card, draw a card. / Avenger: + 2 attack against Master Minds / 5 attack
C1 – Range, cost 2 – Range : retrieve a hero costing 2 or less from your discard pile and place it on top of your deck / 1 Recruit
C2 – Instinct, cost 2 – +1 Recruit for each villain you defeat this turn / 0+ recruit
UC – Range, cost 3 – Draw a card / Range: +1 attack OR draw a card / 2 attack
R – Range, cost 4 - retrieve a hero costing 4 or less from your discard pile and place it on top of your deck / SpFr: +2 attack / 2 attack
C1 – Covert, cost 4 – Each player that reveals a SpFr hero (not counting this card) draws one card. / 2 recruit
C2 – Strength, cost 4 - Each player that reveals a SpFr hero (not counting this card) draws one card. / 2 attack
UC – Strength, cost 6 – If you defeat more than one villain this turn (not counting Master Minds), rescue a bystander / Tech: You draw 2 cards OR all other players draw 1 card. / 4 attack
R – Covert, cost 8 – When attacking the Master Mind, you can choose which Tactic card you take./SpFr: +1 attack for each SpFr hero played this turn. / 4 attack

Just a couple of things.
If they couldn't justify giving HAWKEYE range, you'll have a hard time convincing me that Venom and Spider-girl are majority Ranged.
Second, do you really think someone like Black Cat deserves an 8? She's not exactly among the most powerful heroes in the universe.
Other than those, not too bad.
Flash Thompson/Venom has a gun, I figured that would be range.
As for Spider-Girl...you got me.
As for Black Cat, I was more thinking about how her ability is good. 8 seemed right, but I guess it could be lowered.
