Just wrapped up a three player game (normal set up) in which we had THREE ACTIVE DOOMSDAY MACHINES. Which stunk since I was the Amazing Diplomats and they kept killing all the barren planets.

Anyway, the question is are Doomsday machines effected by Black Holes? I had a scout which caught the ire of the machine. I was also in a black hole hex. We played that when the machine came in to the hex he had to check for black hole death. He rolled a 7! Scout lives another turn...

Quote from the rules(p. 15):
17.4 Doomsday Machine Effects wrote:
... If, after combat, a DM is in a hex with an asteroid or planet (with or
without a colony), it will destroy it. Remove it and any colony from
play. DMs get no benefits from destroying planets or asteroids. Any
other terrain has no effect on DMs.

The last sentence states that DM is not effected by Black Holes.

Ohh well, that's sad it was fun tricking the DMs into black holes...
