Just wondering if there are any games out there where the game plays out in different levels or planes? For instance a war game where air battles occur in a way that the planes fight at different altitudes. Most games occur on a single level.

I am not talking about things like 3D Chess where you can physically move on the x, y and z axis. I am talking about a board or tile based game that gives the feel of playing or interacting on different levels.

There was a recent geeklist on this.

Chopper Strike and Sub Search fit your criteria from it.

Also, a lot of minis (especially WWI fighter planes) tend to
use the space appropriately.

Regular board wargames usually represent altitude in writing
or with chits.

ya those two games aren't what I had in mind. What I am looking to see if exists is a game that gives you the feel of that but on a flat board.

This looks like it could be close, but it appears that the levels are each on their own. So it is more like you are moving up as you go from one area to the next rather than say having two players in the same space but at different heights.

much like my answer for Dragonlance. I am looking to see if there is any game that you can have multiple people in the same place but at different levels or heights.
