Just checked my tracking info and saw this

"Payment of charges - Item being held, addressee being notified"

Now I have to wait for the card to come through saying how much I owe for import duty before I can go and collect my game from the post office....It's knowing the game is less than 2 miles away from me and I can't play it yet that is most frustrating! This kind of thing could lead me to join some kind of street punk gang...

Hmmm...

I'm thinking this could be an expansion idea worth following up on!

OK I paid the fees online today so it should be in my sweaty palms tomorrow!

For those in the UK: My customs charges came to £21.26. Ouch! I hope none of you get stung!

Just curious...

Would it have been that much if it came from closer?

(let's say, just accross the channel in France for example)

The duty was for Import VAT (value added tax). I believe this would not have been applied if the shipping had been from within Europe.

Well at least I have my game now! $50 plus $30 shipping plus £21.26 is $118 of punk busting goodness!

I am just waiting for the kids to get to bed then the table is all mine...might dig out some old VHS tapes of Hill Street Blues to play in the background while I solve the crime.

No, we don't get customs charges for items coming in from Europe, although postage is still a little high.

Good to know!

Trying to figure out the least expensive way for UK/EU to get the game.

Well my policing skills were less than exemplary last night....I let the punks get a grip of the bad hoods while dealing with several progressive "Urgent" emergencies (must shuffle the deck better next time). Meanwhile, the murderer managed to sulk off into the distance before I had even managed to sweep down the crime scene. One more go later tonight then a multiplayer session tomorrow at the games night!
