Has anyone else's group immediately started calling the pink food resource cubes "Spam". It came up less than five minutes into our first game and it just stuck! "Do you want Cloth or Spam?"

Just a warning for those who have trouble with Monty Python or canned meat.

No but it makes sense. Of all pink foods I can think of, those cubes look most like spam. Or jello.

Spam came up the first time I taught it. My vegetarian wife tried to get us to call them beets instead, but even she's using spam now.

We call them ham, or pork. But only, I think, because we didn't think of Spam first.

Funny - for us it was 'gum'. It came up way early in the first game and stuck just as firmly.

We call them "flesh" after someone said they were "food" and I immediately started referring to them as "human flesh". Shortened to "flesh" was more ambiguous and creepy.

We haven't played Caylus just yet... soon though, very soon.

I prefer Mark's reference of 'soylent pink' as the food source.

Hm I feel so lame... I must confess in our group it's always: "Let me get 2 pinks, 1 purple, a brown, and a stone"

I guess stone is the only resource that stuck.

We generally call them "food", but my group is odd in that nobody wants to say "deniers". Instead, we just say "moneys".

Oh, and my copy of Caylus was missing the pieces for the Provost and the Bailiff, so I replaced them with the gray Pig and Builder pieces respectively from Carcassonne: Traders and Builders. We always barter back and forth, "How many moneys will you spend to move the piggy this time?"

We call them "pigs" or "piggies," since you can see pink pigs in the farm tiles. At the start of the game, some players like to make a pig pen out of their houses, complete with two pigs and a tree (initial resources of two food and one wood).
