Play games and be awesome!
I understand your thoughts - it just seemed off balance - we just found it's cost compared to other 2 point cards made it much less valuable to play or influence latter on unless you needed it. I guess for it to be fair to all some of the other fundamentals should be worth zero also?
When compared in a vacuum to other fundamentals, it's strictly worse. It's the potential this technology enables coupled with no inherent incentive that makes it interesting.
I can't say I agree that achieving perfect balance is desirable. This card (just like any other card) is situationally important and valuable (a two point fundamental that leads to nothing is nowhere near as "valuable" as sanitation with Genetics on the board ready to go). The distinction is that the value isn't inherent in the card itself.
As for making other fundamentals worth 0, it's sort od a 1 trick pony in my eyes... do it once and it can work, do it twice and it's just obnoxious (plus the chance of a game with 4+ cards worth 0 points possibly being in someone's opening hand just doesn't sit well with me).
Thanks for your thoughts on this!
