This looks absolutely awesome Mark! I've downloaded it and want to go to Kinko's and print it up.

Do you know if Kinko's can print the map and cards directly off of a CD?

Kinko's should be able to, yes. Give them a call or drop by if you are unsure.

Does anyone have experience with using this map for 8 players? Can one just leave the Targaryens out of the game?

I made this expansion when it came out and it was great. When playing with 8 we would remove Greyjoy and the island of Pyke. Everyone wanted to play with the Dragons I have many variations with the map too. One we use is remove Greyjoy and Pyke. I'd tape white paper on the map and remove the Starks and the North areas. Keep the Targaryens out too. 6player with the Arryns,Tullys, Baratheon,Lannister,Tyrell and Martell.

Our solution with 7 or 8 was just to have a player double up on houses (preferably ones with disparate interests, like Martell & Stark, etc.)

Shame to hear that it won't be updated for the 2nd edition. Too time consuming, I imagine?

Yes, and this was a collegial project, and the participants are long since scattered. - However, there may be someone picking up the banners here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/766044/9-player-version-...
