[Update: The game's been kindly accepted into the 2013 Two-Player Print-and-Play Design Contest - the game's in the contest's Completed stage, and the files can be found under the "Web Links" section of the game's page. Enjoy!]

Hi there,

I've created a 2-player dexterity game recently, based on the Battle of Britain, and thought I'd mention it in the forums to see what people think of it.

The game's called Crikey! Jerries Over Blighty!, and pits the RAF against the forces of the Luftwaffe, each attempting to control the skies over Britain via the medium of deadly flickable discs.

In order to win the Battle, the RAF player must use their fighters to destroy all seven of the Luftwaffe's bombers, while the Luftwaffe player must destroy all seven of the RAF's airfields with their bombers, making sure to protect their bombers with fighter escorts.

Since it's a print & play game, the board itself needs to be printed (onto A2 paper), but the other pieces - planes and airfields - are designed to be easily provided from items you might have around the house, or components from other games.

The rules and board can be found on the game's page, but here are some pictures just to give you an idea of what the game looks like:

You get a thumb for the cap from a bottle of Spitfire. Made me laugh.

Excellent stuff and kudos on your rules, they make for a very enjoyable read! I particularly like the 'extreme' variant you added at the end

Cheers guys - I always felt that if I'm going to make someone take the time to read a bunch of rules, I can at least try to make it a little entertaining for them

If anybody has a go at the game, I'd love to hear what you think of it - doubly so if you do try the 'extreme' variant (And survive it, of course...)

Microver99 - ah, you've got my old man's classy ale-fondness to thank for that. If I'd make a game based around my own grotty habits, it would have been something to do with empty strongbow cans. I guess a post-apocalyptic struggle between giant, cylindrical mechs would be the only theme able to convey the hollow horror of such a thing.
