I see T&E listed as a 2-4 player on BGG, but the Mayfair edition only lists it as a 3-4 player. Since I play 2-player games a lot, this is a bit issue for me. Is it just significantly less interesting with 2 people, or is it really just a 3-4 player game? Or, did Mayfair just make a mistake?

I believe this is a printing error on Mayfair's part.

T&E plays just fine with 2-players. Just make sure that you play aggressively and not passively, and you'll have a jolly entertaining time.

We like it with two. I've played with more but too long ago now to really compare, but we certainly play with two.

I suspect it's too confrontational for some people. You can't really "play nicely" with T&E.

I have become my own island state. A ravaged, war-torn land where nothing grows and the horizons are bleak.

It is definitely a 2 player game. I prefer it with 3 or 4, but it plays very well with 2.

Tip of the day... don't play "stare eyes" with Goo's avatar when you are sleep deprived.

I prefer it with 2 players.

We do add one desolation tile, but that is for our own tastes. It helps mix things up.

2-player T&E when played aggressively is very intense.

Previously I (mistakenly) played 'polite' T&E 3-4 player games with family members and until I played a 2-player version on-line here with a GeekBuddy, I had no idea just how cut-throat and nasty this wonderful game can be.

Enjoy devil

Craig, I personally think Tigris & Euphrates plays best with 2 players. Printing that the game only accomodated 3-4 players was definitely an error on Mayfair's part. You should definitely try it out on BGG sometime.

Ooh a little higher, now a bit to the left, a little more, a little more, just a bit more. Oooh yes, that's the spot!

The German original lists it as 2-4. More importantly it plays 2-4 without any rule changes or variants required. Personally I feel that it plays quite differently as two, three or four players as the dynamics can be quite different. I think it is a very good two player game, Melissa and I can knock it over in about 45 minutes and she cleans the floor with me almost everytime in two player, yet I win three player games more often than not.

Yes, 2-player E&T is great. Which reminds me, I should be starting up another tournament ...
