What do the Geeks think of dealing one scoring card to each player at the beginning of the game?

I haven't played all the much, just a couple games, but it doesn't seem necessary. Is it really that unbalancing where some players get their bonuses early and others don't, despite equal inventment in power cards? And do the people who don't get them not get enough compensation from the other benefits of the cards?

I've played roughly two dozen games on Spielbyweb and a handful of games face to face. In only one game have I not received any bonus cards, despite buying at least ten cards.

I prefer the game as is; by the time you receive any bonus cards, you already own at least one province, which then affects where you want to bid in later rounds. Giving a bonus card at the beginning would greatly alter the initial bidding round in which players fight for provinces based on the ability to buy power cards and thus possibly receive bonus cards.
