“The Settlers of Catan” mentioned on National Public Radio
Russel Roberts, Professor of Economics at George Mason University, appeared on today’s “Morning Edition” on National Public Radio.

Professor Roberts, who enjoys playing board games with his family, talked about the board games “Monopoly” and “The Settlers of Catan”.

In his comparison of the two games, Roberts highlights that Monopoly doesn’t provide a useful model of the business world due to the emphasis of exploitation and lack of creativity. On the other hand, he points out that “The Settlers of Catan” exemplifies how trade and cooperation are the ultimate factors in creating wealth and success.
