I've never put card sleeves on any of my games so I know nothing about them. I was planning on buying some to help foil my oldest son. Any time we play any card game, he memorizes every crease and scratch on the back of the card so he knows what they are all. We have been playing Sleeping Queens a lot and he has every Queen memorized. My question is, Are the backs of the sleeves see-through? I was planning on buying from Amazon because I get free 2 day shipping. They have a few to pick from:

Ultra-Pro Deck Protector Sleeves
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Sleeves-Standard-Black-Prote...

Ultra-Pro Pro-Matte Deck Protector
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Pro-Matte-Deck-Protector/dp/...

Ultra-Pro Holo Deck Protectors
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Deck-Protector-Includes/dp/B...

Ultra Pro Parkinson Demon MTG Card Sleeves Magic Deck Protectors
http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-Parkinson-Sleeves-Protectors...

The first 2 look like they may have transparent backs, but I'm not sure about the last 2. Obviously I don't want them to be see-through so my kids can't get any hints. Also some of these are for Magic The Gathering cards. I believe these are standard sized cards - is that correct?

Thanks!

I have found Ultra Pro to be somewhat brittle. Dragon Shield sleeves are more expensive, but the hold up a lot better and feel a lot better. I believe that Sleeping Queens cards are somewhat thinner than MtG cards, but I cannot find my SQ cards right now for some reason, so I cannot say for sure.

So far as I can tell all four have opaque backs--Black, Red, Fantasy art, Fantasy Art.

You'll know clear card sleeves when you see them.

Also, your kid should know that trying to use such information is cheating, even if its easy to do. That's no different than using information you glean by intentionally glancing at your neighbor's cards over their shoulder, or playing cards with a trick marked deck. He shouldn't want to use that information to win.

That lesson is better learned at (14?) than at 22 when alcohol and adult developed muscles are involved. Good luck!
