This is BGG Play by Forum Arkham Horror game number 31.

The idea of this game is for me to learn the ropes of being a mod and hopefully start modding public games afterwards. For this one, however, I didn't invite anyone from the waiting list, the players are my fellow investigators from Arkham PBF #30.

The rest of this post is shamlessly copied and adapted from DukeOfEarl's opening post for our game

Geeklist for this game: None, I will have my hands full just making the board images for this thread. In our game I found myself never needing to check the geeklist anyway.

Post Typography
* Normal text for discussions, etc.
* Italics for flavor text/fluff. This is optional, but encouraged.
* Bold for in-game moves and actions.

Images
Please use images in your post to identify your character when you post. It helps people keep track of who everyone is. You can find some banners in this geeklist.

I will usually refer to everyone by their character name. For the sake of game speed, COs (Conditional Orders) are a great way to keep things moving along unless you check in frequently.

Game Type
This will be a 4-player game with the Innsmouth Horror and The Black Goat of the Woods expansions. Cards from Miskatonic Horror were added to the deck.
Additional components from other expansions:
* Epic Battle cards (introduced in Kingsport Horror)
* Injury/Madness cards (introduced in Dunwich Horror)

Herald
None, except if the majority of the players decide in favor of one.

Character Choice
Every player receives 3 investigators from the full pool of investigators, of which he or she chooses one to play as.

I think I'll take Amanda. Hank is an excellent streetsweeper, but Amanda is much more versatile.

I'll take Leo Anderson. I was tempted to take Jacqueline, since she can block nasty mythos cards, but I prefer to play more balanced characters, so I'm not constantly ending up in the asylum.

A question for the investigators: should I draw the GOO from the full pool or just from base + Innsmouth?

I don't mind regarding the AO. probably stick to base game plus Innsmouth

I'm torn between Lilly and Skids (who'd want to pick Rita ) but leaning towards skids if everyone is ok with that.


Mike, Leo is one of my favourite characters like you say balanced with a really useful ability.

Holy cow! I couldn't have gotten a better item draw (or an ally draw) if I'd hand-picked the cards myself. Where's the monsters? Let me at 'em!

Speed/Sneak = 4/1
Fight/Will = 4/1
Lore/Luck = 4/1

Also: I'm supposed to draw 1 Spell when I get Thomas F. Malone as an ally.

I know we all got pretty good draws. When this happens in my face to face games we get very scared. Lol

Psst! You don't need a lot of speed if you have a motorcycle. You probably won't move more than 3 spaces on your first few turns.

I know. I realized that when I posted my starting stats. But sneak *usually* isn't important on the very first turn. Same logic goes for Will and Luck as well, so I'm accustomed to just starting out with all my sliders to the right, or almost all the way.

Although, yes, you are correct in pointing out that I might actually have need of sneak, will, or luck on the first turn. I guess it all depends on how the first mythos phase plays out.

All set then! Our opening mythos is: Dark conjunction (mystic environment)

- A gate to The Dreamlands opens at The Esoteric Order of Dagon, the clue there is lost.

- A Dimensional shambler comes out of the gate

- Doom is at 1/14, gate limit at 1/7

- A clue appears at the Devil Reef

- All monsters get overwhelming +1




You may issue your first turn orders, Skids begins the turn.
