Earlier today I took part in an audition for a TV quiz show. They ask a load of test questions to check that you're smart enough/not too smart and one of the test questions was about board games. Can you guess which game they asked about?

Poll
What board game was the quiz question about?
Monopoly.
Was it Monopoly?
I bet it was Monopoly.
So many games to choose from! Hmm, maybe, Monopoly?
Twilight Struggle

It's a new thing, a version of a Japanese game show apparently, we were just sat in a meeting room so there wasn't exactly a lot of TV atmosphere. Dunno if we'll get on yet, We may be insufficiently wacky.

But the ratings system is just WRONG, it's only 2-player, and it's about the cold-war (and allows you to nuke), so it isn't really.

Sufficiently wacky?

Could have said you like to eat sanskrit, repair violets and sew carrots into v-shaped ox telephones in your spare time.

I think the word you're looking for is "shenanigans".

Time to end the speculation. It was Monopoly.

It's a wonderful tribute to the optimism, delusion, and or/wilful contrariness of the BGG community that over half of the votes were for TS, regardless of the spectacular unlikelihood of tat being the correct answer. One day brothers and sisters, Twilight Struggle will be a question on a daytime TV quiz show, one day!

In fact, next time I do one of these things and there's a question about (inevitably) Monopoly, I'm gonna answer Twilight Struggle anyway, because that's what the question SHOULD be about. Even if it's the million pound question.

(Despite the fact that it's clearly broken because of the nuclear wars and only two players and SHENANIGANS etc.)

I figured it would have been Twilight Struggle, because why else would you have made a thread about it?

Which would be a great name for a gameshow. Or maybe an Irish themed bar...

Someone should design a different game making use if those items just so there's a different "correct" answer to that question.

Too bad they didn't mention the iron...
