My 6 YO daugter wanted this for Xmas, and it appears she was good as Santa obliged...
This is a simple, fun memory game with a fair bit of luck. Each player takes it in turns to draw a card which will have 1) a task on 2) a free go or 3) end of turn. If a task is completed succesfully you can pick a key (one of 8) and try to open the chest. 1 key is correct, allowing the victor to get a coin (first to 2 coins wins) the other 7 make the skull vibrate and shout - quite funny we thought. Play then passes to the next player.
Components are good quality, a little assembly is required (and batteries are needed) but its a 2 minute job. This game has a small footprint if space is a factor.
Gameplay went quickly, the tasks involving predicting which gargoyle the "eye" will appear from (1 of 3), picking the snake with a red tail from a basket of 4, predicting how many of 3 bones will land dot side up when dropped on the table, picking the cube with the skull underneath (1 of 3) and finally picking the 2 correct halves of the map.
I lost 2 straight (shame shame) and it was quick fun. It teaches kids to guess/predict and, with the keys, memory and elimination. And its fun when the wrong key is picked and the skull "goes off".
This could also be a fun game for grownups as a drinking game or similar. Its speed of play is a big factor in its charms.
