The capital of New Hampshire is pronounced "Conquered." The people are called New Hamsters. They pronounce "aunt" to rhyme with "taunt."

Strange New Worlds... although it tends to play a little long. It also scales very well from 2-6 players.

If you don't mind a little bookwork, and you relish direct player interaction... there's always Stellar Conquest. Explore for resources, then custom build your star fleet to take on your opponents.

I wish I knew the answer to this too. A very under-served niche, for some reason. Twighlight Imperium Lite is what I would wish for, for 2+ players.

Here's an old game worth looking at

Any interest in Star Trek? Star Trek the Adventure Game is the highest rated Star Trek Game and is based on the paragraph system used in Tales of Arabian Nights.

It should be fairly east to get ahold of on Ebay. There is also a scifi website that sells them but the name ships my mind. I believe it's only for two players though.

If you want an older style wargame, Web and Starship was considered to be one of the best 3 player games around. Not for the faint of heart with an over 20 page rule book. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2986

I've heard good things about Battlestations, a sort of light RPG set in space which I've heard compared to an episode of something like Star Trek.

It already has two expansions also.
