My name is David, and I will be moving back to Chicago in June. I would like to start a weekly gaming group soon after, so I thought what better way than to lay the foundation now? Currently, the group would consist of my (soon to be) wife, my best friend Nick, his wife, and possibly his brother and wife. A few of our friends might occasionally want to play, but I would not call them gamers. I would like to expand to a few more people to ensure that the group is large enough to withstand a few people missing any given week. If you are interested, please read on. If you want more information, you can either post, geekmail me, or email me at email@example.com
Bi-Weekly Board Games
I primarily enjoy ameritrash or hybrid games. My wife enjoys mostly co-op and low direct conflict games. Nick, on the other hand, leans more towards euros and games with lots of direct conflict. Our interests are varied, but more importantly we all like to play games and are willing to sit through a less interesting game to get to a more interesting one later. Some of our favorites include: Runewars, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and Arkham Horror. Here is my collection, and here is Nick's collection. Also, you could always bring a game you own to be play and we would (probably) be up for it.
Over the last few years, I got into playing RPGs and that is something I would like to continue after I move. I currently am playing in a 13th Age game, and it is some of the most fun I have had. I would like to continue to use that system. If not that, I would love to play a Dresden Files game. While I could GM, I much rather be a player. I would like a sandbox style game; I have experienced too many problems with story-driven games and simply don't have as much fun playing them.
I am still searching for an apartment at this time, so I can't say exactly where it would be, but I can say that it will be on the north side, close to the red line. I intend to host most nights, but at the same time I would be open to traveling to some other place. I think Nick might be also interested in hosting some nights, but I won't speak for him. The exact time and day are in the air, but I expect that it would take place on a weekend night. All of this can be decided once we have enough interested people.
Thank you for reading this long post. I hope that you are still interested. As I said, if you want more information, just post here or contact me through geekmail or email at firstname.lastname@example.org

Welcome (almost) to Chicago! You'll find that there's a very active gaming scene here, and I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding some great people to play with. If you're looking to meet other gamers, be sure to check out the Chicago Game Lovers meetup group (http://www.meetup.com/chicagogames/) which has a consolidated calendar of events happening all over the city and suburbs. There are multiple events happening pretty much every day of the week, so it's hard NOT to find an event that fits your interests.
