This variant works with any Dungeoneer set, with any number of players.

Instead of having a "Build" phase to lay down map cards, during their Hero phase the player may decide to travel any valid direction that currently has no map card. The top map card is then placed on that spot, and the Hero moves there for one movement point. If the top map card will not fit, continue picking map cards until one will fit, reshuffling afterwards.

As an additional option, the player may decide to look in a direction, but not travel there. It still uses a movement point, but the Hero stays in the same place.

We've found this to be a lot of fun, especially for two players.

Good idea. I am going to try this next time we play.

Best of luck,

Tried this variant out today. I really enjoyed it a lot. It felt much more like a dungeon / outdoor exploration adventure game.

Thanks again,
Darrell
