Hi all

I'm looking for the above, a light-light medium game suitable for 8-10 that isnt too heavy on the set-up time.

Thanks in advance

Nuclear War is an obvious one.
Apples to Apples is great, we played with 14 people New Year's Eve and played in pairs to make the Judge role go around the table faster.
Pass the Bomb - easy and fun

Formula De
Electronic Catch Phrase

Edit: I missed the setup time requirement. Get an Electronic Catch Phrase, it's a great game when played in two teams with even number of players. Lots of fun. And no setup.

Saboteur could work. The largest group I've played with was 6, but the box says 3-10 players.

"Loot" can be played with 8 in teams of 2. arrrh

And at <$10, it's nice bang for the buck.

I second the recomendation for Formula De. It is good for 2-10, and it can be as light (1 lap) or as heavy (3 lap or tournament) as you want/need. So it is very versitale.

There are even expansion tracks if you find you really like it.

I've introduced it to many people and it is always one of the favorite games.

I just played Loot for the first time last night, and it definitely fits the criteria of 8 players, very light game, and virtually no set up. It's a fun game and would work well with a group of 8 I think (we only had 4), but it is very light -- the pirate theme is appropiate but almost nonexistant in terms of gameplay. Expect a 20 minute play time on this.

Formula De is a fun game and as mentioned above, it does work with up to 10 players, but it will take some explaining to get everyone familiar with the rules (particularly the "only happens once or twice per game" rules like the start roll, the engine rolls on a 20 or 30, etc.). Expect a 60+ minute play time on this.

I've played both Saboteur and Wits and Wagers with 8+ players.

Wits and Wagers went over very well...everyone is involved in every question throughout the game. With that many players I recommend a full time game facilitator (read question, flip timer, open and close wagering, payout winner, etc.)

Saboteur seemed to go over well also. A bit of downtime between plays (though everyone should be paying attention to what each other is doing).

Over New Year's Eve we played Werewolf with 8 and it went great. We played something like 12 games over 3 1/2 hours. We also played Snorta, which went pretty well.

Last Saturday we played Werewolf with 16 (family, cousins) and played about 8 games of it and it went till almost 2am. Werewolf brought out the best in everyone. Tanz der Hornochsen plays 8 (boardgame of 6 Nimmt). I've never played 6 Nimmt but like Tanz der Hornochsen quite a bit. Plan on getting Wits and Wagers on my next order.

ALL HAIL THE GREAT DALMUTI!!!!

Great for 8-10 players. Interesting card designs, easy to learn mechanics. For Heavier Gamers, they can count cards. For Medium Gamers, they get get the strategy. For Lighter Gamers, they get into the "power structure." People tend to stay focused, because what gets played matters.

We play it as a drinking game... drink when you pass. Social when the Great Dalmuti is played.

Rearranging chairs and having "Symbols of Power" really make this game fun and interactive.

HIGH RECOMMENDATION for 8-10.
