The rule says : "All groups of Boats that attempt to land on a Royal Island turn around and land back on the Island from which they came."

Does it mean that the boats land back on the same BEACH the've just left (they are now locked there for the rest of the game) or the player must distribute them across the beaches, as the normal landing rule?

You distribute the boats across the beaches.

This can be a great tactical move. Moving to a Royal Island & bouncing back can allow you to move your boats (& opponents boats that went on the trip w/you) to the other beaches thus setting off new chain reactions. Love this game.

Thank you guys! It's nice to get an answer that fast.

If any of you is familiar with the new 2-player rules from Überplay, I have another unanswered question in the "General Articles" section.
